At GK Global, 2025 began with a lot of great news. We had big celebrations, new projects, and important steps forward. Our different teams worked hard to make this first quarter full of exciting moments. From textiles to real estate, education, and training—each part of GK had something to be proud of.
Let’s take a look at what we achieved in the first three months of this year.
Celebrating 29 Years of Sierra
This year, we celebrated 29 years of Sierra, one of the companies in our textile division. For almost three decades, Sierra has been making quality products and growing strong in Central America. We are proud of everything this company has done.
To mark this special anniversary, we hosted an event called “Sustainable Cotton in Near Shore Supply.” This was more than just a celebration. It was a chance to talk about how we can make the textile industry better—not just in Honduras, but across the region.
The event brought together people from across the textile world. They talked about ways to use cotton in a responsible way, close to home, rather than depending on far-away suppliers. This idea is called nearshoring. It means working with countries that are closer to you so that supply chains are shorter, faster, and better for the planet.
Sustainability is not a trend for us—it’s a value we live by. By hosting this event, we showed our support for greener, smarter ways to work in textiles. We want to grow this industry, but we also want to protect the environment and support fair jobs.
Green Valley: A Place Where Clients Grow
In our real estate division, good things also happened. At Green Valley Advanced Manufacturing Hub, one of our clients opened a brand-new plant. This is a big win for them—and for us too. It shows that companies who choose Green Valley are able to grow and reach their goals. We are proud to be part of their journey, and we’ll keep working with them in the years to come.
But that’s not the only big news at Green Valley.
We also received the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System recertification. This is an important international certification. It means that we follow the right steps to take care of the environment in the way we run our industrial park.
We’ve had this certification since the beginning of our operations, and we’re proud to keep it. It proves that we are serious about protecting nature while building industry. Every decision we make in Green Valley includes caring for the land, water, and air around us.
Altia Smart City: Training for the Future
Another big success in Q1 was the launch of the Finishing School Program at Altia Smart City. This is a free training program that helps people improve their English and technical skills. These are the skills they need to work in the fast-growing BPO industry.
The program is open to 400 people. It’s intense and focused. In just a few weeks, students are trained to speak English better, use computers, and understand how to work in BPO jobs. Our goal is to help them find good jobs with our clients at Altia.
This is important because the BPO industry keeps growing, and there is more demand for skilled workers. Many young people in Honduras want these jobs, but they need extra help to get ready. That’s where the Finishing School comes in. It helps close the gap between talent and opportunity.
We are excited to see our first group of trainees get hired and start building their futures.
GK Foundation: First Bilingual Class to Graduate from 11th Grade
Last but not least, we want to share some heartwarming news from the GK Foundation.
This year, for the very first time, we will see the first bilingual class graduate from 11th grade in Honduras. This is a very proud moment for us. These students started school in one of our partner programs, and they are now getting ready to finish their education.
They celebrated their first day of school in February, excited to be back and motivated to do their best in their final year. These students have been learning in both Spanish and English, and now they are ready to take the next step in their education journey: university.
This achievement shows the power of long-term investment in education. The GK Foundation works to improve public education by supporting teachers, schools, and students. We believe that every child deserves access to quality learning, no matter where they live.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward in 2025, we stay focused on what matters most—creating value through innovation, building meaningful partnerships, and driving positive change in the communities where we operate. The achievements of this first quarter remind us of what we can accomplish when we work together with purpose and vision.
Follow us to stay updated on our latest projects, initiatives, and success stories. Let’s keep building a better future together.
